Administration & Health

SchemaDock is managed from Administration -> SchemaDock.

The administration experience separates configuration into four areas:

Settings
Destinations
Install & Health
Lifecycle

Settings

Use Settings to manage the Dock registration and its organizational availability.

A Dock has explicit ownership:

  • an organization
  • Global

Availability may be configured for:

  • owner organization only
  • selected organizations
  • all organizations

Organization availability determines which organizations may use the Dock. User RBAC remains separate and is still enforced by SchemAlign.

Destinations

Use Destinations to configure the Dock destination policy.

Policies can allow or deny destinations by:

  • hostname
  • DNS suffix
  • CIDR
  • single port
  • port range
  • any port

See Destination Policy.

Install & Health

Use Install & Health for installation downloads, version information, enrollment state, and agent health.

Typical fields include:

Field Meaning
Enrollment Whether the Dock has completed one-time enrollment.
Platform Windows or Linux.
Installed version Version most recently reported by the enrolled agent.
Current release Current SchemaDock release available for that platform.
Last seen Most recent agent health/check-in time recorded by SchemAlign.
Online status Whether the Dock currently has a usable gateway session.

New Installation vs Update / Reinstall

A pending Dock receives a new-install bundle that includes a one-time bootstrap.

An already enrolled Dock receives the normal update/reinstall package and does not need another bootstrap.

Lifecycle

Use Lifecycle for destructive administration such as deleting a SchemaDock registration.

Deleting a registration is not the same as temporarily disabling it. Confirm that no pipelines depend on the Dock before removal.

  1. Register the Dock.
  2. Set owner and organization availability.
  3. Install and enroll the agent.
  4. Confirm the Dock is Online.
  5. Configure destination policy.
  6. Test a known destination.
  7. Select the Dock in supported pipeline nodes.
  8. Monitor Last seen and installed/current version state.
